Unexpected Pleasures, by Tamsin Wilton

reviewed by “VS”

Tamsin Wilton is unusual in that she used to be straight. Yep, straight up! Tamsin says her friends – straight and lesbian – find it hard to believe that she once enjoyed sex with men and considered herself heterosexual.

She discusses her own coming out in the forthright and fascinating introduction to this book before launching into profiles of some of the hundred and odd women she interviewed.

It’s bound to help those women who are – even in the twenty-first century – still coming to terms with their sexuality, or are, some of them later in life, realising that a lesbian lifestyle is what they were cut out for all along.
