Non-religious Affirmation Ceremonies celebrating love and commitment between lesbian or gay partners have been available in the United Kingdom since 1987, arranged initially by the Gay and Lesbian Humanist Association (originally under the name Gay Humanist Group), and since 1996 by the Pink Triangle Trust.
